Legal Notice

Last updated: 8 July 2026

In compliance with Article 10 of Spanish Law 34/2002 of 11 July on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSICE), the following identification details of the controller are provided:

  • Controller: José María Hontoria de la Esperanza
  • Tax ID (NIF): 48924606H
  • Address: Calle Doctor Antonio Cortés Lladó, 5, 41004 Seville, Spain
  • Communications channel: hola@notamet.com
  • GDPR email: privacidad@notamet.com
  • Purpose of the project: Pre-flight compliance for aviation professionals. Technical re-use and structuring of public aeronautical information from official aeronautical information sources (AIS).

1. Nature of the service · Independence

NOTAMET is NOT an official aeronautical information platform. It is a private, independent technical service that re-uses information published by official aeronautical bodies under Spanish Law 37/2007 on the re-use of public sector information (transposing Directive 2003/98/EC and the later 2013/37/EU and 2019/1024/EU open data directives).

NOTAMET is NOT affiliated with, sponsored, endorsed, managed, controlled by or officially linked to:

  • ENAIRE — Spain's Aeronautical Information Service,
  • DGAC Chile — Dirección General de Aeronáutica Civil,
  • Eurocontrol EAD (European AIS Database),
  • NOAA / NWS Aviation Weather Center (USA),
  • or any other official aeronautical body whose data we re-use.

The names used (ENAIRE, DGAC, EAD, AWC, METAR, TAF, NOTAM, SIGMET) are official acronyms of aeronautical bodies or concepts, used on this site nominatively and descriptively, solely to identify the public source of the data, in accordance with Art. 37 of Spanish Trademark Act 17/2001.

2. General Terms of Use

Access to this portal confers the status of USER on anyone browsing it. Use of the site implies full acceptance of this legal notice, the terms of use, the privacy policy and the cookie policy.

The portal provides access to information structured by NOTAMET from official sources. Certain advanced features (unlimited briefings, extended zones, email dispatch, historical archive, alerts) are subject to an optional subscription. Basic consultation is subject to the limits of the plan contracted.

The user undertakes to make lawful, diligent use compatible with the nature of the service, respecting the published technical limits and refraining from any conduct that may damage, overload, impair or prevent the normal use of the portal by other users.

3. No liability for the original source

The data presented (NOTAMs, METAR, TAF, SIGMET) comes from the direct re-use of information published by ENAIRE (Spain), DGAC Chile, Eurocontrol EAD, NOAA/NWS Aviation Weather Center and other official aeronautical sources indicated in each briefing. NOTAMET is not responsible for inaccuracies, omissions, delays or errors present in the original source, nor for any consequences for third parties of the information officially published by those sources.

For legally binding acts, actual flight operations or official compliance procedures, the user must always consult the official source: ENAIRE AIS (ais.enaire.es), DGAC Chile (aipchile.dgac.gob.cl), Eurocontrol EAD, NOAA/NWS AWC (aviationweather.gov), or the competent aeronautical authority. NOTAMET guides and facilitates access, but does not replace the official aeronautical information service.

NOTAMET is not an official source and is not endorsed by official aeronautical bodies. The information offered is intended for decision support, operational consultation and internal compliance, and does not replace consultation of official sources or professional advice where necessary.

4. Traceability and source verification

NOTAMET implements full technical traceability on every datum obtained from external sources. Each NOTAM, METAR, TAF or SIGMET carries traceability metadata including:

  • Source identification: official body of origin (ENAIRE-INSIGNIA, DGAC-Chile, NOAA-AWC, Eurocontrol-EAD).
  • Query URL: exact endpoint from which the information was obtained.
  • Retrieval timestamp: exact moment (UTC ISO-8601) at which the source was queried.
  • SHA-256 hash: cryptographic fingerprint of the raw content returned by the source, making it possible to verify that the datum shown matches, bit for bit, the one obtained from the original source.

This traceability allows auditors and authorities to verify the integrity of any briefing: the SHA-256 hash included in each compliance PDF can be checked against the original response from the official source. If the source corrects or removes information, NOTAMET updates its reflection at the next query, but the archived history preserves the traceability of the original state.

Disclaimer regarding sources: official bodies are solely responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and availability of the data they publish. NOTAMET cannot guarantee that information obtained from an official source is free of errors, since such errors are inherent to the source and outside NOTAMET's control. If NOTAMET and the official source disagree, the official source always prevails.

5. Intellectual and industrial property

The source code, visual design, editorial texts, own images, the "NOTAMET" mark and the general organisation of the portal are the property of the controller identified in section 1. The original editorial texts, analyses and landing pages are works protected by Spanish and European intellectual property law.

Data derived from public aeronautical sources is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence (CC BY 4.0). That licence does not extend to the source code, design, editorial texts or the "NOTAMET" mark, which are reserved.

The trademarks, company names and logos of third parties shown (ENAIRE, DGAC, Eurocontrol, NOAA/NWS) belong to their respective owners. Their mention is nominative and descriptive, solely to identify the data source, in accordance with Art. 37 of Spanish Trademark Act 17/2001.

6. Personal data protection

The processing of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy, which details the legal bases (Art. 6.1(b)/(e)/(f) GDPR + Law 37/2007), the specific purposes, retention periods, processors and the data subject's rights (access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction, portability).

To exercise any of these rights you can write to privacidad@notamet.com. Response time: 30 days (Art. 12.3 GDPR).

Complaints may be lodged with the Spanish Data Protection Agency. We recommend contacting us first — most issues are resolved within a few days.

7. Cookies

Detailed information on the use of cookies and configuration options is available in the Cookie Policy. No third-party advertising trackers.

8. Changes to this legal notice

NOTAMET reserves the right to modify this legal notice when it considers it appropriate for technical, legal or service reasons. Substantial changes are announced 30 days in advance to registered users by email and through a visible notice on the site. The last-updated date always appears at the end of the document. Continued use of the site after a change is published implies acceptance of the new version.

9. Applicable law and jurisdiction

This legal notice and the relationship between the user and NOTAMET are governed by Spanish law. For the resolution of any dispute arising from the use of the portal, the parties submit to the Courts and Tribunals of Seville, unless the law imposes a different venue in defence of the rights of consumers and users.
